Did Ted Cruz Really Win Every County in Maine?

The Boston Globe and 2 local papers didn't give him a chance. He didn't win a single county in Massachussetts 4 days earlier. Did Cruz really win EVERY county in Maine?

By Cruz Camp's Own Admission, Heidi Should Be Thoroughly Vetted

The head of the Ted Cruz campaign has said Heidi is Ted's closest adviser. The FEC violations involve her current employer. No personal attacks, just a necessary professional evaluation of Heidi Cruz's role in the Cruz Crew.

As a self-described "constitutional expert" Canadian born Cruz could do us all a great service to stop illegal immigration by simply answer 4 teeny weeny questions...

The Complete Concordance of Cruz Corruption, Deceptions and Lies

Reagan was attacked by the Establishment, but people LIKED him. Cruz on the other hand is despised by mild mannered Huckabee and "sealed lips" George W. There is a reason. Here is an (almost) complete compendium of Cruz lies.

Why Isn't Anyone Discussing the SCOTUS Ruling on Natural Born Citizen?

There is a lie being told that "Natural Born Citizen" is not defined anywhere in the Constitution. That's True. What's Not True is that it is NOT settled by the Supreme Court. (It has)

In honor of @pmbasse, a descendant of one of the original 300 Texas settlers, I want to tell you WHY I LOVE TEXAS. As they say, I wasn't born here but I got here as soon as I could. And for me that was 3 times.

Ted Cruz Takes More Wall Street Money than Hillary Clinton

When you see who REALLY is running Ted's campaign, you realize how "inside" this pretend outsider is. The top CIA, Goldman Sachs executives are LITERALLY running his campaign.

Is the Israeli PM More “Christian” Than Our Own President?

20111108-drudge_treetax

Last year our self-proclaimed Christian President couldn’t even say the name “Jesus” in his Christmas greeting to the American people, over 85% of whom consider themselves Christian.

The prime minister of Israel, whose Christian population is under 2%, went a bit farther.  How much?  A distance approximately the same as that of our current government from the frugal money management of Ebenezer Scrooge.

Benjamin Netanyahu mentions Christians, Christmas or Jesus eight times, validates that Jesus lived and taught there.  And he actually seems to KNOW it is important to them.  Go figure.

WHMaoXmasOrnament Of course we remember President Obama refusing to go to church on Christmas because it would “interrupt” the service and the killer of Christians and atheist Mao Christmas ornament that adorned the White House tree last year.  The President whom his press secretary described as a “devoted Christian” refused to even issue an Easter message this year although the Muslim holidays Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitr, Hajj, and Eid-ul-Adha all warranted written statements.  And Earth Day of course.

Obama’s first Christmas message was given even prior to taking office.  He devotes less than 30 seconds to the celebration of Christmas and the holidays and goes on to say something we wish we would have caught before.

Now, more than ever, we must rededicate ourselves to the notion that we share a common destiny as Americans – that I am my brother’s keeper, I am my sister’s keeper.  Now, we must all do our part to serve one another; to seek new ideas and new innovation; and to start a new chapter for our great country.  That is the spirit that will guide my Administration in the New Year.

Obama Pre-Inauguration Christmas Message

No Jesus. No thanksgiving for the Gift from God.  Only a recounting of how bad it is and that everyone must be responsible for everyone else. Hmmm.  At least he didn’t say he was the savior of the world.

The first Christmas IN OFFICE as President wasn’t even a video but an audio message (full audio HERE).  He managed to sneak the King of Kings into one line:

But even in these tough times, there’s still so much to celebrate this Christmas.  A message of peace and brotherhood that continues to inspire more than 2,000 after Jesus’ birth.

He went on to encourage people to give to the military, a noble cause. and he and Michele say Merry Christmas at beginning and end.  We can only speculate if this was directly attributable to the outing from the NY Times that originally the Obama’s were planning to remove the nativity tradition in the East Room and were going to ban Jesus completely making it a “non-religious” holiday, meaning Christmas and Hanukah.  I’m not sure if that wouldn’t have been better than insulting the Jewish community by rapidly lighting every candle on the menorah in one photo op so he could split town for his holiday vacation.

For Christmas of 2010, again with the audio (HERE), his message again eliminated any direct naming of the Name Above All Names and tied him to the strange theme of his first Christmas message:

THE PRESIDENT:  Because this is the season when we celebrate the simplest yet most profound gift of all: the birth of a child who devoted his life to a message of peace, love, and redemption.  A message that says no matter who we are, we are called to love one another – we are our brother’s keeper, we are our sister’s keeper, our separate stories in this big and busy world are really one.

Perhaps he missed that sermon from Jeremiah Wright that the whole “brother’s keeper” reference was about a jealous son of Adam who murdered his brother because “the Man” wouldn’t spread the favor around.  Or then again perhaps he didn’t miss that particular sermon.

Here is one he should learn from Jesus’ own mouth:

10:32 “Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. 33 But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven.

Just when you think maybe you are making too much of this, you find out the White House Christmas tree pays homage to Obama but not to the REAL Omnipotent, Omniscient One.

The 63-foot Sierra White Fir lighted at the U.S. Capitol Grounds on Dec. 6 as the official 2011 Capitol Christmas Tree includes a prominently displayed ornament paying homage to President Barack Obama, but includes no ornament readily visible to a person standing near the tree's base that uses the word “Christmas,” or includes an image of the Nativity, or bears the name or image of Jesus Christ.

On the north side of the tree--at a height of about 4 feet and easily visible to people standing near it---there is an ornament that says: “I ♥ President Obama.”

He did a lot of things wrong but declaring his love for Jesus wasn’t one of them.  A reminder of George W. Bush’s last Christmas message.

The White House
Office of the Press Secretary
Christmas 2008

"I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."

Luke 2:10-12

Each year, Christmas brings together families, friends, and communities to rejoice in the birth of Jesus Christ and celebrate the wonderful gifts God has bestowed upon us. During this season, we remember Jesus' birth from the Virgin Mary, His justice and mercy that changed the world, and His ultimate sacrifice for all people. Though Jesus was born humbly in a manger, He was destined to be the Savior of the world. The light He brought into the world continues to break through darkness and change people's lives two thousand years later.

This holiday season, as you rejoice in the good news of Jesus' love, forgiveness, acceptance, and peace, I encourage you to show grace to those less fortunate, just as God showed it to us. By serving those in need and through other acts of love and compassion, we can honor God's goodness and affirm the immeasurable value God places on the sanctity of life. We remember the members of our Armed Forces serving to protect our country and secure God's gift of freedom for others around the globe. All Americans are indebted to these men and women and their families for their sacrifice, devotion to duty, and patriotism.

Laura and I send our best wishes for a very Merry Christmas. May you be surrounded by loved ones and blessed by the Author of Life during this joyous holiday and throughout the New Year.

GEORGE W. BUSH
President of the United States

And in case our President has mislaid the White House archive of previous presidential Christmas messages with other –ahhemm – certain personal documents of his, Barack Obama can turn on his TV and get the message, from the great philospher, Linus.

Merry Christmas, everyone.

The Xmas-CHRISTmas Controversy + GIFT!

christmas-Xmas-christ

PolitiJim is a “re-gifter” and proud of it.  Not only am I rewrapping another Christmas article below, I’ve gotten permission from LibertyChick to “re-gift” her awesome music to give you a A PolitiJim Christmas Gift for you at bottom of post!

One of my favorite lines comes from the little 8 year old character in SOMETHING TO TALK ABOUT with Julia Roberts and Dennis Quaid.  She’s a precocious little thing and at one point scolds her parents in a mimic of her Grandmother by saying:

I’ve just about had enough of you people.

One of the reasons I did NOT give my life to Christ (as recounted in my little booklet – God Unplugged) is that religious people seemed to have too many rules and no fun.  As I’ve gotten to know Jesus and my Heavenly Father PERSONLY I realize what a lie from the pit of hell that is.  But suffice it to say that while I try to “bear with those weaker in he faith” as best I can, I am likely one of the most irreverent, crazy Christians you will meet.

It wasn’t too long ago someone on Facebook started chastising me for even CELEBRATING Christmas – much less worry about the eternal dangers of how I spelled it.  (The argument was that since Easter and Christmas were originally pagan holidays “Chistianized” by Constantine, we are in fact weakening others faith.  If I get 3 comments or more about this I’ll blog about it later)  But this came across my INBOX this morning that (finally) gives me the proper ammunition to tell those uptight, nosey nose killjoy’s to take their “Xmas” argument and shove it…in a manager.  Great article originally posted at Elijah List:

Who Put the X in Xmas?

Rob HotchkinAs the Christmas holiday is fast approaching, an annual event is beginning to take place. And no, I don't mean the exchange of presents, roasting chestnuts on an open fire, or office parties. I mean the rallying cry of many who say, "Let's keep 'Christ' in 'Christmas!'"

This time of year is a wonderful opportunity to see the whole world rejoicing over how our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ manifested in the earth so all people could be restored to relationship with our Heavenly Father. And just as when the wise men came to focus on the newborn Savior and lavish Him with their attention and gifts, I believe with all my heart thatJesus Christ should be the focus of the Christmas holiday today. I enjoy all the decorations, all the carols, and yes, even all the gifts. But I see each of them simply as an opportunity to celebrate Him who has given the greatest gift of all – our salvation! He is worthy of all worship. Christ is truly the reason for the season!

Having said all that, you may be surprised that I occasionally have abbreviated Christmas by writing "Xmas." Recently I wrote a promo email for our ministry making mention of "Xmas." Some wrote responses to let us know that they did not appreciate the use of the abbreviation "Xmas." In their mind, it took the "Christ" out of "Christmas." I love and appreciate anybody who is willing to stand up for our Jesus, so I was grateful that these folks took the time to share their concerns. You may be one who also feels that the abbreviation "Xmas" is a secular attempt to take "Christ" out of Christmas. But you know what? The term "Xmas" seems to have an origin that is actually all about Christ.

Xmas is All About Christ

The third century Church used the Greek Letters Chi ("X") and Rho ("P") – the first two letters in the Greek speaking of the word "Christ," and sometimes "X" by itself to represent Christ. In religious art of the Renaissance and Medieval periods it was quite common to see these intertwined letters "X" and "P" in paintings of Christ. It is believed that this is the origin of the use of the letter "X" in "Xmas."

Online encyclopedia articles explain more:

The word "Christ" and its compounds, including "Christmas," have been abbreviated in English for at least the past 1,000 years... "Christ" was often written as "XP" or "Xt"... This X and P arose as the uppercase forms of the Greek letters χ and ρ used in ancient abbreviations for Χριστος (Greek for "Christ"), and are still widely seen in many Eastern Orthodox icons depicting Jesus Christ. The labarum, an amalgamation of the two Greek letters, is a symbol often used to represent Christ in Catholic, Protestant, and Orthodox Christian Churches.

The Oxford English Dictionary (OED) and the OED Supplement have cited usages of "X" or "XP" for "Christ" as early as 1485. The terms "Xpian" and "Xtian" have also been used for "Christian." The dictionary further cites usage of "Xtianity" for "Christianity" from 1634. According to Merriam-Webster's Dictionary of English Usage, most of the evidence for these words comes from "educated Englishmen who knew their Greek."

The historical use of "Xmas" then seems to have been to represent and even recognize Christ as the focal point of Christmas – since anyone who would have used the term "Xmas" would have known Greek and known the "X" was for "Christ," not a secular replacement for Him. So the "X" in "Xmas" was not an attempt to take Christ out of "Christmas," but simply another way of honoring and recognizing Him. The challenge, however, comes in these modern days when the term "Xmas" is still used even though not everyone is aware of the Greek roots of the usage of "X, "XP," and "Xt" to represent "Christ."

I love Christ. And I love having Christmas be all about Him – the Savior, King, and Lord of all! I say let's keep "Christ" in "Christmas" – and in "Xmas" – by keeping Him in our hearts and our minds as we share His love, light, and truth with all those around us!

Enjoy celebrating Him to the fullest this holiday season. A Merry "Christmas," "Xmas," and even "XPmas" to you all!
