Santorum Out - Romney INevitability - Palin - Gingrich Grinding

PJSoundOfMusicAlps

My apologies in advance for this POOR PolitiJim podcast.  I had serious time, computer and processing problems trying to get this done and it is NOT the quality, humor or value I expect of myself.

All that being said, since I’ve been entombed since Good Friday, I didn’t want to go another day without commenting on the Santorum exit.

This is a surly, angry and not-very-entertaining version of PolitiJim, but I have a number of co-hosts, live broadcasts and regular posts coming up this week and weekend which I hope you will like.  I’m afraid in listening to it myself I didn’t make myself clear on some things like Sarah Palin (who was my #1 choice to be President), but I’ll address those issues later…

The hills are alive, with sound of Gingrich….

Excellent message, Politijim. As an Intern for the Moral Majority from Liberty University, I first met Newt in 1984 with Kemp, and he has had an amazing record of accomplishments. It has been hard to watch the estanlishment fight the man that built their franchise. And I was so frustrated that christian social conservative leaders and evangelicals were backing Santorum's hypocritical candidacy. I too have been dismayed with Sarah Palin, and other GOP leaders, but having wealthy friends deeply involved in Romneys campaign, I realize that they are all following the money with stars in their eyes, hoping for VP or an administrative level job somewhere. We are still only at half time, so if we can somehow get the social conservative alliances to wake up, we can still see great gains for Newt. I know Romney has said Santorum is on his VP list to get votes from Ricks supporters, so we need to keep on telling Santo's followers how they were duped, and continue forging ahead.

Bravo! Very enjoyable Politijim and I look forward to further things from you.

Newt has really excited a few thousand people who slammed his site yesterday to donate to him. So, we will try everything we can to see if we can turn this around.

Thanks again.

Liked most of your message until you ranted about Gov. Palin. Her stepping down as Governor was completely justified. She had a choice between staying in office, getting nothing done and bankrupting her family or stepping down and letting Alaska citizens be served and feed her family. It's not an excuse, it's a fact.

As a Palin supporter myself I do not view her as a goddess but I do trust her motives. She has said that she did not endorse anyone because she is considered so divisive that she was afraid it would hurt the candidate.

Whatever mistakes she's made they are small compared to her record, her likeability and her strengths. Why don't you blame Romney and the establishment for their millions of negative ads against Gingrich which is really the culprit instead of laying the blame for Gingrich not doing well on Gov. Palin.

Wodiej,

As I wrote in my prefaced text to the podcast, I listened to it myself and felt I didn't get my point across. Thanks for the opportunity to clarify.

A. I wanted Sarah first. I'm no "Palin hater"
B. Many Palin supporters are not objective in evaluating her. Her record is NOT perfect. (SHOCK).

Why specific supporters think they have to defend EVERYTHING about their candidate (even when it doesn't warrant it) I'll never understand. Kind of like the mom's of serial murderers who still insist "he's a good boy," I guess.

I understand her exiting the governorship (only after watching UNDEFEATED) and feel it was heroic and selfless. It also is what it is. An incomplete term as Governor. Worse, the larger media will NEVER accept the reasons because it demands that you have absolutely proof of her reasoning - so in the eyes of NON-Palin supporters (who must be won over) it is a negative even though those of us who believe in self-sacrifice see it as a positive. Do you get credit for dropping out of college? Do you get credit for walking off a normal construction job even if you did much of the work you set out to do? It is just a very complicated answer that POLITICALLY hurts her among independents.

In comparison to the 30+ years Gingrich held in Congress in pales, but at least he waited 4 years to step down instead of 2.5. (Romney went ahead and collected his Governor pay although he was out of the office for 220 days his fourth year as governor - worse I would say except that he has consistency to point to at Bain and the Olympics).

My complaint against Palin is that she has acted more of politician than I thought possible. I still lover her and hope she gets involved. But look at the other half of the ticket she shared.

John McCain endorsed Romney. OUTRIGHT ENDORSED HIM. He didn't say "vote for Romney in New Hampshire" or "I voted for him in Arizona". He put his entire credibility on the line for him. He conducts interviews on Romney's behalf. He campaigns for him. There is no doubt in ANYONE'S eyes, McCain FULLY BELIEVES in Romney.

Palin is acting EXACTLY like politicians she complains about, not really taking a clear position or putting her full credibility on the line like she did with Nikki Haley or even Fiorina. (Another Palin endorsement mistake by the way).

My point is if you are going to draw the line between the GOP Establishment and the Tea Party movement - than draw it!! don't sketch a rough line in pencil. This is a war for the party, culture and nation. At this point she LOOKS likes she's angling for a position with Romney. (I'm not saying SHE IS - I'm saying IT LOOKS that way).

Santorum showed his true colors. Foster Friess is already supporting Romney. After all his big talk about being a "true conservative" who is he supporting? According to Romney, Santorum is going to be campaigining with him. Just like he did in 2008. The man has ZERO principle in trying to truly reform the GOP. Just like Nikki Haley, just like Rubio...

If not for Gingrich - the Tea Party is dead.

Reagan Conservatism vs GOP Elites

I stand, united with NEWT Gingrich, to make a last stand for Reagan Conservatism and the Tea Party. The GOP Elite bullies are the ones who decided there was no room for "we the people" in the GOP, not us. The elites are shoving Romney down our throats to kill Reagan Conservatism and the Tea Party. They want to move the GOP to the Left with Progressive Romney.

Only "11% of the GOP are excited about Romney," to quote PolitiJim, yet 60%+ of us in the GOP want to save Reagan Conservatism. The GOP Elite political machine has run the most negative and dishonest GOP campaign in modern US history. And they want us to reward Ronmey's bad behavior and their corruption by bullying us into voting for them; giving us no options. How is that freedom?

Their debate wimp can not defeat Obama. No matter how many times they repeat their scare tactics and, by the way, the "Anyone But Obama" campaign is all they got. Well, 'that' and propaganda journalism, the likes of which have not been seen in our Nation before. So, let me be clear, they say we have to toss aside all valid candidates for this rich guy and his dirty tricks and believe they have a crystal ball. Their track record for picking losers is well known and they are the reason Obama got elected.

No, we the people have had enough, time to make a stand.

We have to go through the convention process to determine who we will send to defeat Oblamer and it probably will be NEWT, not the debate wimp. "We the people" believe Romney should stand before us at the Convention and explain how he will undo all the damage he has done by assaulting us with his negative and dishonest campaign. He and his 11% need to figure out how to un-throw the first stone.

We hav to show up in Tampa in force with signs that say, "NOBODY ELSE BUT NEWT" and "MITT MUST QUIT"

Politijim, you're taking the words right out of my mouth.

I agree 100% with what you have said, and am pissed off too that Sarah Palin hadn't officially endorsed Newt.

I am disappointed with everyone in the Conservative Media to tell you the truth. FoxNews, since Iowa has been in the bag, solidly for Romney. The pundits after Gingrich won South Carolina were down right nasty towards him since. Brit Hume, I have lost all respect for.

Glenn Beck, to me, was the huge disappointment in this election cycle. I was a fan when he was on Fox, and even subscribed to GBTV. I cancelled once he called Tea Party Patriots who supported/voted for Newt Gingrich racists.

It pisses me off, When Gingrich had a bad debate performance, and people were calling for Party Unity. The DAMN Tea Party Express/Nation and other NATIONAL Tea Party Organizations did a "Stop Romney Bus Tour" in Florida. They never endorsed anyone like they did in 2010, and to top it all off, they gave out ROMNEY SIGNS (AS described by Judson Phillips at TPN) Because they were for "All the Candidates"

Michele Malkin, David Limbaugh, and other Conservative voices, endorsed Santorum RIGHT BEFORE the Florida Primary. Talk about punching Newt in the gut.

The only think Newt needs now is good Press. The problem is, the Press is corrupted! Filled with either Obama lovers or Romney lovers.

It frustrated me to no end.

Gingrich has done what we Conservatives are begging the Republicans do now!

When Gingrich left, that was the moment the GOP became Democratic-lite.

I will vote for Gingrich in the Delaware primary, and I am praying for a miracle, cause we need this man!

Richichi Teaparty Nation Judson Phillips blocked me on twitter, awhile back, another thin skin conservative that can't take criticism. He was for Newt, his wife for Paul. If he can't convince his own wife, what powers does the man have to convenience anyone else. I still receive the teaparty nation newsletters-amazingly Glad you didn't give up on the audio, politijim, I sure enjoy you in any form you chose to take with your message

It is shocking the thin skin of so many "conservatives" I just had the Palin supporter I talked about in the podcast (but withheld their name to show some civility) tell me A) they were no longer my friend and B) they THREATENED me like an Obama goon. Unfrickin' believable.

Mentally unhinged and so insecure that they can't even rationally talk about politics without acting like a 5 year old.

I'm embarrassed for them.
